BNBx after the sunset: review the exit before swapping

BNBx should not be presented as a routine new-staking choice under Stader's 2026 wind-down announcement. An existing holder needs to establish the current exit process and final conversion terms before comparing a residual DEX quote.

Stader's January 29, 2026 sunset notice disabled new deposits, scheduled validator withdrawals and described a freeze of the exchange rate after exit. It also stated that contract withdrawals would remain after the dedicated interface was removed.

Separate the announcement from live availability

The notice establishes the product's intended wind-down and explains why an old “stake BNB for BNBx” tutorial is unsuitable as a current guide. It does not by itself prove that a particular user-facing button or third-party pool remains operational today.

Use Stader's current official navigation and contract withdrawal material to verify the available exit. Do not select a contract from an unrelated search result simply because its name resembles BNBx. If the interface has changed, the exact deployment and method still need confirmation.

A remaining market is a separate option

A DEX can show a price for a legacy token even after new minting ends. That price depends on counterparties and pool inventory. It need not equal the final protocol conversion value, and the existence of a chart does not establish an executable route for the holder's entire balance.

For comparison, write down the amount of BNB the documented exit would return, the operational steps needed, and any currently executable market output. This is a framework for evaluating evidence, not a claim that both paths are available.

Keep the date of the source in the record. BNBx is a useful example of why product lifecycle changes can matter more than a token's familiar name or an old list of supported DeFi integrations.
