Compare BSC staking wrapper quotes in underlying units

Normalize BNB staking-token quotes by their underlying BNB conversion units, then compare market proceeds and exit conditions separately.

A lower unit price does not establish that one BNB staking token is cheaper than another. Tokens can represent different amounts of underlying BNB per unit. Normalize those units before comparing a DEX quote with a protocol exit.

Lista's slisBNB description and Ankr's BNB staking FAQ describe reward-bearing tokens whose underlying conversion relationship changes. The number of token units in a wallet and the associated BNB amount are therefore separate quantities.

A worked comparison

Assume the following fictional rates and quotes purely to illustrate the arithmetic. Both proposals sell 10 units of a hypothetical wrapper for native BNB, before gas.

WrapperAccounting BNB per tokenAccounting BNB for 10DEX BNB output
A1.0810.8010.69
B1.2012.0011.76

For each row, divide the market output by the corresponding accounting amount. A gives approximately 98.98% and B gives 98.00%. B's larger output does not mean it has the smaller difference from its underlying accounting value; its units represent more BNB to begin with.

This is a comparison of units and observed quotes, not a recommendation between actual products. Use current rates for the exact contracts at a consistent point in time.

Accounting value is only one input

A protocol rate is not a promise of immediate, unrestricted cash-out. The Ankr unstaking guide distinguishes withdrawal methods with different conditions. Other products can have their own queues, liquidity limits or sunset procedures.

Subtract applicable exit costs and account for the waiting process before comparing with immediate market proceeds. Also verify whether an exit returns native BNB or another receipt asset. Two proposals with different final tokens are not yet comparable.

Finally, use the quote for the actual intended size. Multiplying a small-trade unit price by a large balance ignores how executable liquidity can change the result. Preserve the contract, quantity, conversion rate and final output together so the comparison can be reproduced.
