Aster USDF and asUSDF: different units in a swap

Distinguish Aster USDF from asUSDF and Pendle position tokens before comparing stablecoin swap amounts or redemption values.

USDF and asUSDF are different units. Aster describes asUSDF as the yield-bearing token minted by staking USDF, with changes reflected in its net asset value. Selecting one instead of the other changes what the swap output represents.

The relationship appears in Aster's asUSDF documentation, while its minting guide covers the conversion workflow. BNB Chain's ecosystem overview identifies Aster USDF separately from other similarly styled stablecoin names.

Do not compare only the number of tokens

In a hypothetical example, 100 asUSDF representing 104 USDF should be compared with a DEX quote in the same underlying units. A quote returning 103 USDF would differ from the stated conversion value by one USDF before further costs. The example does not supply a live ratio or assert that redemption is immediate.

Check the current conversion rate, any waiting period and the actual output of the selected route. A DEX sale and a protocol redemption may have different timing and liquidity constraints even when both eventually lead to USDF.

Prefixes can identify another claim entirely

Aster's Pendle guide also describes principal, yield and liquidity positions associated with asUSDF. PT, YT and LP labels are not decorative additions. They identify different claims and, where applicable, maturity dates. Do not enter a principal-token amount into a base-token calculation without understanding what the position redeems into.

For a BSC swap, record the full token name and contract together. Then specify the desired endpoint: liquid USDF, asUSDF exposure or another asset. This helps the quote answer the intended question and avoids mistaking a yield-position trade for a routine stablecoin conversion.
