An LP token represents a claim on a pool's assets under the pool's rules. Its marked value does not state how much another trader can swap at the current price. Ownership value and execution capacity use different calculations.
A claim is not a quoted offer
Suppose a hypothetical LP position owns 1% of a pool with marked value of $1 million. Its proportional asset claim is approximately $10,000 before any implementation-specific adjustments. That does not mean a $10,000 swap will execute with no impact or that the position offers $10,000 of either asset individually.
The underlying composition matters: the claim may contain both assets, while the trader wants to remove one by adding the other.
Separate withdrawal from trading
Uniswap's v2 pool description explains LP tokens as proportional claims redeemable through liquidity removal. A swap follows the trading curve instead of redeeming a trader's ownership share.
Concentrated positions introduce another distinction because the capital belongs to bounded price ranges. A valuable position can be inactive at the current price and contribute little to the immediate quote.
Use the right evidence
For ownership value, inspect the underlying claim and its valuation. For executable depth, obtain output at the intended size, direction and state. For selling an LP token itself, quote that separate market; it may have different liquidity from the pool the token represents.
Do not add LP-token market value to the underlying pool TVL as though both were independent deposited capital. That can count the same economic claim twice.
A report can show LP ownership information as context, but the swap-size limit requires a defined execution constraint. “This position is worth $10,000” and “this pool can exchange $10,000 within a stated cost band” are distinct statements that need distinct evidence.
