LI.FI is infrastructure that applications use to offer swaps and transfers across networks. You may encounter it through an embedded wallet feature, a widget or Jumper. The interface you use and the route provider that ultimately carries the transfer can be different entities.
The current product offering includes access through an API, SDK and widget, combining exchanges, bridges and solver systems. This makes LI.FI useful when an application wants multiple execution options through one integration. It does not make every available route equivalent in settlement, fees or recovery behavior.
Read the route as a sequence
A cross-chain quote may include conversion on the source chain, transport to the destination and another conversion there. Ask which token crosses the network boundary, which token must arrive, and whether you must sign anything after the first transaction.
LI.FI’s route documentation explicitly distinguishes a single-step quote from more complex routes that can require the user to initiate a destination-chain transaction. That distinction matters more to a time-sensitive user than the total number of chains advertised.
Identify who set the fee
An application integrating LI.FI can add an integrator fee. Consequently, a wallet quote using LI.FI need not match another interface using LI.FI, even before settings and quote timing differ. Compare the actual delivery terms rather than assuming a common infrastructure logo produces an identical price.
The provider lists are discovery aids, not proof that every named upstream service remains available. At this research check, the LI.FI plans page still mentioned Odos despite Odos’s official shutdown notice. A valid current quote and its route details provide stronger availability evidence than an undated list of integrations.
LI.FI’s main selection advantage is access to multiple routes through an application. Assess that convenience together with the chosen route’s dependencies, destination actions and support path.
