Is a fee already included in the quoted output?

A fee is already included when the quoted receiving amount has been reduced by that fee. In that case, use the receiving amount as shown and add only costs paid separately. A fee line by itself does not reveal whether it is an explanation of the quote or another deduction awaiting settlement.

Reconstruct a simple ledger

Imagine an interface shows a gross calculation of 500 output tokens, a two-token service charge, and a final receiving amount of 498. The correct expected receipt is 498. Subtracting the two-token charge from 498 again invents another charge.

Now imagine a different screen shows 500 as the route output and says a two-token service charge will be deducted afterward. Its final receiving amount is also 498. The economics match, although the screens use different boundaries.

Do not add fee recipients as independent charges

A single pool charge can be distributed among several recipients. Uniswap documents protocol fees and liquidity-provider fees within its version-specific fee structures. A breakdown of where a fee goes is not automatically a second fee charged to the trader.

Resolve uncertainty before comparing

Look for the interface's definition of final output and its transaction review. If those disagree, preserve both values and mark the inclusion status unresolved. After execution, reconcile actual received tokens against the displayed final amount and separately paid costs.

Do not force an exact total when the fee base is missing. A range with an explained unknown is more informative than an apparently precise comparison that silently subtracts the wrong amount.
