Phantom cross-chain swaps: a Solana user's destination check

Phantom lets users inspect alternative bridge providers. Its displayed price impact can include a bridge fee, so labels need careful reading.

Phantom can select a cross-chain route automatically when the input and output tokens are on different networks. You can also inspect provider alternatives before confirmation. That provider choice is part of the trade, even though you remain inside the wallet.

The current cross-chain guide names LI.FI, Relay, deBridge and Garden among its providers. LI.FI can itself involve further tools. An older description naming only one aggregation backend is therefore insufficient for a current comparison.

Read the fee labels carefully

Phantom’s swap guide, checked September 24, 2026, lists a 0.85% Phantom fee on most swaps with specified exceptions. It says a cross-chain bridge fee is currently folded into the displayed price-impact figure. Open Settings, then Provider to inspect the bridge-fee breakdown.

This is a material comparison detail: the displayed impact is not necessarily a pure measure of how your trade moves a pool. Do not subtract the bridge fee again from an already net receive amount. The settings guide also describes a Network Fee presentation that can aggregate several costs.

Check where the output goes

On mobile, Phantom’s current guide makes the Cash account the default payment method for buys and destination for sells. Select the intended asset explicitly if you want the result in a different token. A familiar Buy or Sell button should not substitute for checking the actual output.

After a source transaction confirms, a delayed bridge is not an invitation to repeat the swap. Phantom instructs users to track the existing route and contact support with the source transaction and both addresses when necessary. Its support team can escalate to the bridge provider but cannot reverse or force a bridge transaction.

The useful comparison is therefore provider-specific: delivered asset, receive account, complete quote and tracking path. A wallet-wide fee headline alone cannot capture those differences.
