Fix a swap problem

The aggregator connects but cannot request a valid signature

Why a wallet can connect to an aggregator yet fail when the application requests a transaction or typed-data signature.

Connecting successfully proves only that the application established some communication with the wallet. The chosen route may require a signing method, account feature or chain capability that the wallet integration does not support.

Identify the failed capability

Was the request an ordinary transaction, typed-data signature, permit, smart-account batch or hardware-device confirmation? The provider standard distinguishes unsupported methods, unauthorized access and rejected requests. An application may display these through less precise wording.

Record the request type and exact error. “Wallet connected but swap failed” is too broad to identify whether the problem is account support, permission or execution.

Use a documented combination

Check the aggregator’s supported wallet/account guidance and the wallet’s current official documentation. Updating through the authentic distribution channel can resolve compatibility issues, but an update is not a guarantee that a particular method becomes supported.

If an alternative supported wallet interface can access your existing hardware signer, evaluate that integration without exporting its seed. Do not convert a hardware account into a software account merely because a support message suggests importing the recovery phrase.

Some applications offer a different supported transaction flow, such as an onchain approval instead of a permit. Use it only when the application explicitly supports it and you can verify the resulting permissions and costs. Do not sign an unrelated message as a substitute for a failed authorization method.
