USDT to USDC on BSC: what actually changes?

Swapping USDT for USDC on BSC changes the token contract and potentially the issuer or wrapping dependency behind the balance. It is not merely renaming the same dollars. The relevant comparison is between the exact input and output contracts on chain 56.

PancakeSwap's BSC token records include Binance-pegged USDT and USD Coin assets. Circle's current native issuance list does not list BSC. These facts make representation checks necessary before treating a BSC stablecoin conversion as issuer diversification.

Calculate what the change costs

Consider a hypothetical quote spending 1,000 USDT to receive 997 USDC. The 3-unit difference is not automatically a 0.3% trading fee: the quote can reflect relative market prices, pool conditions and costs already included by the interface. Native BNB gas is another expense unless the displayed service explicitly handles it differently.

Write down the amount spent, expected output, minimum acceptable output and gas estimate separately. This preserves the distinction between a price comparison and a transaction budget. If the output is intended for a specific payment, make sure the quoted amount meets that obligation after any later transfer expense.

A stable pool does not enforce the peg

Finish by checking the received contract and whether the planned destination accepts it. A cheaper conversion to an unusable representation can create more work than it saves.
