A honeypot checker can identify warning signs or simulate a sale under particular conditions. A clean result does not prove every address can sell every amount later, and an unknown result is not a clean bill of health.
Read what the tool actually tested
Check the chain, token contract, route, amount and time of the result. Determine whether the tool simulated transfers, analyzed code or used other signals. Those methods answer related but different questions.
GoPlus documents unknown or unavailable fields and limitations involving proxies, unavailable source and sandbox behavior. Uniswap also warns that third-party detector information may be inaccurate.
Investigate mutable conditions
Look for administrative powers to change taxes, block addresses, pause transfers or upgrade implementation. A successful current simulation cannot promise that those powers will never be exercised.
Address-dependent or amount-dependent behavior also limits generalization. A simulated sale using one account and amount may not reproduce your intended trade.
Use results to decide what to inspect next
A clear high-risk flag is a reason to stop and investigate. Missing data is a reason to acknowledge uncertainty. Conflicting scanners should prompt examination of their coverage and timestamps, not an average of their labels.
Do not buy a token merely because a tool shows green indicators, and do not repeatedly pay gas to test a sale that preflight already predicts will fail. Verify identity and permissions alongside the scanner evidence.
