Waiting between trade pieces helps only if the state available to later pieces becomes more favorable than it would otherwise have been. Time itself does not add reserves. Other trading, liquidity changes or a changed route must explain the improvement.
Name the replenishment assumption
In a hypothetical sequence, the first trade shifts a pool away from the broader market. Later activity moves it back toward the reference price before the second piece executes. That can improve the second quote compared with immediately continuing from the first trade's ending reserves.
Alternatively, other traders may move the price further in the same adverse direction. Liquidity may leave. The second quote can therefore worsen despite the delay.
Track the evidence
Record the first trade's ending state, the state used by the later quote and the contemporaneous reference. Distinguish liquidity added from price changes caused by swaps. They can both affect output while representing different developments.
The Uniswap pool description explains how deposits and trading interact with pool pricing. A future quote needs the resulting state, not just the elapsed number of seconds.
Budget the complete sequence
Suppose a hypothetical delay improves later output by $2 but requires another $0.70 in network costs. The apparent net benefit is $1.30 under those conditions. That does not price the market exposure during the wait or establish that the improvement was predictable.
For a proposed schedule, use explicit favorable, unchanged and adverse scenarios. For a completed schedule, aggregate actual fills and costs. Avoid comparing the outcome only with the worst earlier quote; preserve the original intended trade benchmark.
A replenishment model can help analyze execution, but a fixed waiting interval is not a guarantee that arbitrage or liquidity providers will restore a particular rate in time for the next swap.
