Model multi-input and multi-output swaps explicitly

Represent basket swaps with explicit asset amounts, output constraints and atomicity instead of reusing a single-pair form.

A basket swap cannot be safely modeled as one token pair with extra labels. It needs a collection of inputs, a collection of outputs and an explicit statement of what success means for the whole operation.

Define the request independently of a provider

A proposed application model gives each input a chain-qualified asset identity and integer amount. Each output carries either an exact amount, a minimum amount or an allocation rule supported by the chosen execution mode. Keep those constraint types distinct; an allocation percentage is not a guaranteed token quantity.

The ERC-20 specification describes balances and amounts per token. You cannot add raw quantities from assets with different units to obtain a meaningful portfolio total. Convert to a common valuation unit only for a clearly labeled estimate.

Choose an atomicity policy

One atomic on-chain transaction and several independent swaps expose different outcomes. If the application implements a basket as separate transactions, represent each leg's pending, successful or failed result. Do not describe that workflow as all-or-nothing.

For an atomic payload, validate every input permission and every output constraint before review. Check whether unspent input is returned and where refunds go. These properties must come from the selected provider and contract documentation, not from the word “basket.”

Review the full asset movement

Show all assets leaving the account, all expected recipients and all enforceable bounds. An aggregate dollar estimate can help orientation but should not hide one unexpectedly large approval or a zero minimum on a small output.

Useful fixtures include duplicate asset entries, an allocation sum that does not match the selected scale, one insufficient input balance and one unsupported output constraint. Reject ambiguous requests before translating them into provider fields. If the provider lacks basket capability, offer a separately explained multi-transaction workflow rather than silently changing atomicity.
