Approving a token grants a specific address spending authority.
Identify the spender
Read the actual approval target and token contract. Do not assume the contract that executes a swap is the address that should receive an allowance.
Check the documented role
0x explicitly distinguishes its allowance targets from its execution contract. Compare the current deployment documentation with the transaction request rather than relying on a familiar application logo.
Review the amount and lifespan
An allowance may outlast one trade. Understand the requested amount, expiry where relevant, and how to review or revoke the permission. Reject a request you cannot explain.
