Practical research
Slippage tolerance is a limit, not a fee
A wider tolerance permits a worse outcome; it does not repair every failed trade.
Keep two concepts apart
Price impact describes how the proposed trade changes a pool price. Slippage tolerance defines the acceptable deviation between the quote and execution. They can both affect the result, but they are not the same number.
Read minimum received
Use the same input amount and output token when comparing routes. Check the quote expiry and minimum output. If a transaction fails, investigate the reason before raising its tolerance.
Use contract identities
A plausible token symbol and price do not identify an asset. Verify contracts and liquidity; a quote on a thin or unrelated pool can be misleading even when the arithmetic is correct.
