OKX DEX settings: dynamic, fixed and capped slippage

OKX DEX offers three slippage modes with different meanings: Dynamic adapts the proposed tolerance, Fixed uses the value you choose, and Capped combines adaptation with your upper boundary. Selecting a mode does not change the identity or safety of the token being bought.

The official settings description, checked September 24, 2026, distinguishes these controls from network fees and MEV protection. They solve different parts of the execution problem.

Read the selected tolerance before signing

A tolerance bounds acceptable execution deterioration; it is not a fee that is automatically charged in full. Nonetheless, permitting a larger difference expands the outcome you authorize. Read the resulting minimum received amount rather than approving a percentage mechanically.

A gas adjustment answers another question

Network-fee settings affect transaction submission and inclusion economics. They do not create missing pool liquidity or make a problematic token transferable. If the quote itself is unavailable, raising gas is not evidence-based troubleshooting.

Protection is scoped to a path

The interface also offers MEV controls. Confirm what applies to the selected chain and execution mode; do not assume the same private-routing behavior across every product screen.

When comparing another provider, keep the tolerated outcome comparable. A quote shown with a much looser constraint can appear easier to execute while authorizing a worse result. Save the settings with the quote if you want to evaluate execution afterward.

There is no universally correct percentage in this guide. The appropriate bound depends on the actual quote and the outcome you are willing to accept.
