KyberSwap limit orders versus an immediate swap

A KyberSwap limit order expresses a price condition and waits for eligible execution. It should not be treated as a guaranteed future swap merely because a price chart touches the requested level.

KyberSwap's order guide describes takers settling orders when conditions match and states that assets remain owned by the user until a matching trade. It also explains that active orders can serve as liquidity for the aggregator. That improves discoverability; it does not create a promise that every order will fill.

Compare the objective

An immediate swap seeks current executable liquidity. A limit order instead says that execution should occur only on specified terms. If receiving the asset now is essential, a conditional order may not meet the objective even if its requested price is attractive.

Before submitting, inspect the sell amount, desired price, validity period and displayed authorization. Confirm the selected chain supports this product; the general aggregator chain list is insufficient.

Assets still in the wallet can remain committed by an instruction

Seeing the original token balance does not mean the order has been forgotten. A valid signed instruction may remain available while assets stay in the account. Track active orders separately from balances.

If your plan changes, use the documented order-management process and confirm the resulting status before relying on replacement instructions. An interface's cancel action and a completed cancellation state are not the same evidence.

Judge the workflow after execution

Save the order identifier and any settlement transactions. Compare the actual sold and received amounts against the instruction. If the interface indicates that some quantity remains, establish whether it can still fill.

The relevant advantage is control over acceptable terms, not a forecast that those terms will occur. A limit order can expire or remain unfilled while an ordinary swap would have executed at a less favorable current rate; that trade-off is part of selecting the product.
